Devoted wife and mum, loves to spend any spare time with the family, an her little toddler son keeps her busy. She is most relaxed exploring the great outdoors, also when at home in the countryside.

Practice Manager/Cleaner
Practice founder, manager and occasional receptionist. Focused on ensuring business growth and connecting with the local community, where everybody recognised him as Mr Bosco.
Dedicated husband and father. Absolutely obsessed with good food, loves to spend his time preparing delicious meals for the family as well as foraging the ingredients.

Dentist
Addie joined Bosco Dental Studio at the end of 2024. She graduated in Dublin and previously worked in East Lothian. Full of enthusiasm, she always welcomes patients with a warm smile.
Outside of work, Addie enjoys staying active and traveling. Passionate about fitness, she spends time at the gym and has a background in weightlifting. She also loves running and looking after her garden.
Madelene Smyth
Dental Therapist
Maddie joined Bosco Dental Studio in 2025 as a Dental Therapist, having graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2023 with a BSc (Hons) in Oral Health Sciences. She shares her week between our practice and another local practice. Maddie is known for her kind, gentle manner and her softly spoken approach, taking time to listen to patients and help them feel relaxed and well cared for. She enjoys supporting patients in achieving healthy smiles and feeling more confident in their oral health.
In her spare time, Maddie loves the outdoors, especially long walks in the Pentlands, where she goes to unwind and enjoy a little calm.
Ramasamy Nachiappan
Dentist
Ram joined Bosco Dental Studio in 2025 after graduating from Newcastle University in 2024 with a BDS degree. He has a warm, friendly manner and enjoys building good relationships with his patients. Ram enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a keen interest in surgical dentistry, and takes pride in providing thoughtful, all-round care to help patients maintain healthy smiles.
Originally from Manchester, Ramasamy is very close with his family. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the guitar and travelling to explore different parts of the world.
Karen Mitchell
Dental AND CHILDSMILE Nurse
Karen has been with us for a number of years now. She is friendly and always looking for an opportunity to crack a joke, creating a relaxed atmosphere for nervous patients. She has been a dental nurse for longer than she would like to admit.
She loves spending time with her Jack Russel Reba, and her favourite singer is Dolly Parton. She loves to keep fit and cycles into work every day.
Kirsty Cowan
Dental AND CHILDSMILE Nurse
Kirsty is one of our loyal team members who qualified as a dental nurse in 2006. She has a kind and empathetic manner, always there to help anxious patients calm. She is very experienced and brings a wealth of dental knowledge to our team.
She has a husband and two adorable children. She loves to spend her free time with her family. Out and about on family walks and keeping fit.
ALEKSANDRA KALWAS
DENTAL NURSE
Aleksandra joined Bosco Dental Studio in 2024. With experience as a dental nurse in both Poland and Scotland, she also assists with translation for our Polish patients.
A devoted mother, she enjoys taking her daughter on long walks. She also loves caring for her home and preparing delicious meals for her family.
Celia Poon
Trainee Dental Nurse
Celia has joined us in 2022 with a wealth of experience from the airline industry. She is always very keen to help anybody and has a very hands-on approach to any issues in the practice. Always eager to help solve any problems arising in an efficient manner.
She spends her free time gardening various edible vegetables that she is keen to share. Celia also loves the outdoors.
Polly Yu
receptionist/Trainee Dental Nurse
Polly has joined us in 2022 bringing her experience in retail to us. She is always friendly and cheerful. You will likely meet her behind the reception desk as she manages most of the appointments.
She has a gorgeous cat that she loves to look after when at home. She practices yoga to relax and unwind in her spare time.
Sarah Scotland
Dental Nurse
Sarah joined Bosco Dental Studio as a Dental Nurse after returning to dentistry following a break to raise her three children. She previously worked in other practices and brings plenty of experience to the team. Sarah is friendly, cheerful, and chatty, with a warm manner that helps patients feel comfortable and well looked after.
When she is not at work, Sarah loves spending time with her family and enjoys exercise and keeping active.
Sophie Docker
Trainee DENTAL NURSE
Sophie joined Bosco Dental Studio as a Trainee Dental Nurse and is currently learning all aspects of the role, both on reception and in surgery. She has a warm and kind manner, is always eager to learn, and enjoys helping patients feel at ease as they move through their treatment journey with us.
Originally from Tranent, Sophie enjoys helping her dad on the farm, looking after her dog, and spending time with her friends.
